This is an individual one day tournament on the campus of Heathwood Hall in Columbia with a special emphasis: it is limited to first year wrestlers only who began wrestling this season. Criteria for entry and definition of “first year wrestler”: if they were in your or someone else’s practice room prior to October 31, 2011, at any level- i.e. varsity, JV, MS or AAU whether or not they actually wrestled in your lineup, they do not qualify for this tournament. Our goal is to limit competition to bona fide first year wrestlers against other bona fide first year wrestlers. There will be no team scores and the cost of entry is $10.00 per wrestler (individually) or $75.00 per team (Whichever is less). Double elimination format- random seeding. Medals for top three placers in each weight class. The tournament is open to first year wrestlers in grades 7-11 whether they are varsity, JV or MS (Must be at least 7th grade per scisa rules), and we will follow the standard 14 weight classes. Seeding: Since this is the first tournament of the season, seeding will be done by computer based on prior accomplishments at the State level ONLY. Nothing else other than the criteria listed will be used for seeding purposes. ALL OTHERS not included in actual seeding will be randomly selected by computer random draw and fill. The line-up that you send on Monday is FINAL! NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE. Seeding criteria: 1. State Champ, Runner-up, place winner (multiple times will weigh ahead) 2. State qualifier (higher place, multiple times, qualifier, etc.) 3. I know this is the same weekend as the Outback Tournament, but clearly not everyone travels there. We will have someone coming in to run this tournament for us this year, so it will be more organized and run more smoothly. Last year we had some issues with teams backing out at the last minute and I’m hoping that won’t be an issue this year. Entry fee will be $150 to cover cost of officials. Admission to this event will be $6. We will run a full concession stand. There will be an area for team coolers. For all A/AA lowerstate teams, this is your chance to get head to head matches for seeding purposes. However, all classifications from all areas are invited to attend. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday December 30, 2011 – 4th Annual Red Raider Duals – Would like to have 10-12 teams for this tournament. This will be a one day tournament so that it does not interfere with you New Year Celebration. How we run this will depend on how many teams we get. Ideally we would like to get 12 teams so that we can have 3 pools of 4 teams. Entry fee will be $150 to cover cost of officials. Admission to this event will be $6. This will be a charity tournament, we will donate 75% of our profit to a charity which will be determined at a later date. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st Annual Warriors Stampede Wrestling Tournament Friday & Saturday December 2-3, 2011 Henrico High School Gymnasium - Henrico, VA 16 Team Dual & Double Elimination Wrestling Tournament Great Format Entry Fee: $300.00 per team (make checks payable to Henrico H.S) Each wrestler is guaranteed a minimum of 5 matches for the weekend with some might get 6 matches it’s according on what you do in your bracket on Saturday. The top two teams in their pool on Friday will be placed in an eight man double elimination gold bracket, and the bottom two teams in their pool will be placed in the silver bracket of an eight man double elimination bracket. There will be trophies to the top three teams in each division and medals awarded to the top four finishers in each weight class. Also there will be an outstanding wrestler award in each division.
